Many different activities draw visitors to the coast of Oregon. Cannon Beach is one of them. In June of 2013, Cannon Beach was named “one of the world’s most beautiful places” by National Geographic Magazine. This was no surprise to the people who have visited the beach. With many miles of sandy beaches and the dramatic rock formations such as Haystack Rock, Cannon Beach is sure to be a hit for any vacation.

With dozens of public beaches to choose from, Cannon Beach is the perfect place for anyone who enjoys ocean fun. The length of the Cannon Beach shoreline gives visitors plenty of room to play a great game of volleyball with their friends or ride a bike along the gentle waves as they crash against the shoreline. Thousands of visitors flock to the beach to enjoy a quiet night, or a rowdy one, surrounding a roaring campfire. Friends and family alike will enjoy all that Cannon Beach has to offer.

Cannon Beach also offers what millions of people love- a place for all of the normal beach activities we all enjoy. Families often spend the day building sandcastles with their kids while groups of friends gather to surf and sunbathe. Campers can enjoy a multi-faceted vacation when they pick Cannon Beach as their destination. Just a few minutes away from the beach are some of the most amazing views in the country. Visitors can enjoy the beach, tide pools, and awesome rock formations.

Cannon Beach isn’t just sand and ocean, although those two perks are often plenty for visitors to enjoy. There are plenty of restaurants to choose from, ice cream shops to stop at for dessert, and a nearby distillery. Ecola State Park is close by, offering campers the chance to hike through multiple trails. Many of these trails head high over the ocean and offer spectacular coastal views that will take your breath away.

You can enjoy a leisurely hike one day and then charter a deep water fishing trip the next. You’ll enjoy restaurants that serve the freshest seafood you can find, and then you can plan a trip down the street for crepes and chocolate desserts. No matter what your plans are, these five-star rated campgrounds are perfect for campers who want to be near the ocean.
