Widgi Creek Golf Course

Widgi Creek golf course is a favorite for many golfers in Bend. Not being a super long course, Widgi definitely rewards straight and accurate irons. There is a lot of risk reward when it comes to using driver here. If you are straight, you will likely shoot a solid score. If you slice or hook driver a lot, this course may leave you wishing you never played.

The holes are all very unique and offer different challenges throughout. You really get a little of everything.

There is also a nice driving range close to the first tee, so you can practice and get warmed up right before your tee time.

If you choose to golf here in early spring or the fall, be prepared for possible frost delays first thing in the morning. Our golfing group likes to knick name the course “Ice box” as the first few holes are fairly shaded and can be a little cold first thing in the morning.

Overall, golfers will love the challenge this course offers and its diversity.

Gearhart Golf Course

Know for being the oldest golf course on the Oregon coast, Gearhart golf links is maintained with a precise excellence. The fairways and greens are on point and take away any excuses for lost shots.

With tee options that include “The Stones”, you can dramatically change your experience and score when playing from “The Stones”.

The course overall is challenging and fun with a wide open feel so you can swing driver without too much trouble or fear of miss hit shots. With the 18th hole being the hardest in my mind at 640 yards with fairways that have very few flat spots and an up hill dog leg left with a slanted green protected by 2 sidehill bunkers, and the clubhouse behind with eager over lookers…. need I say more?

After the round, you can tell your stories and drink your miss hit shots away at the Mcmenamins restaurant and bar directly behind the 18th green as you watch other golfers approach the finishing hole.
